Slicers are large, juicy tomatoes with plenty of flavor that are terrific when eaten fresh. Slicing a tomato and seasoning it with salt is the quintessential summertime treat. Slicers are most delightful when eaten fresh, but they can also provide a sauce with a lot of depth and complexity, at the expense of a longer cooking time.

Storage Information

For whole tomatoes, 55°F is the ideal temperature for storage. While unripe tomatoes should always be kept at room temperature, whole ripe tomatoes can be kept in the refigerator. Make sure to return these tomatoes back to room temperature before consumption. Utilize the tomato halves (cut sized down) within (2) days of storing. Cut tomatoes should be used or frozen after a few days in the fridge.
